Blackfish changed the world's view of Seaworld forever!  The film has caused Seaworld's once flourishing profits to tank beyond repair! In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, Blackfish’s Dr. Jeffrey Ventre talks to host, June Stoyer, about his experience as a former trainer at Seaworld and what life is like for captive animals. Stay tuned! Jeffrey Ventre MD DC  is a practicing medical doctor licensed in the state of Washington. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (board certified specialist). He treats patients with various disabilities ranging from spinal cord injury to low back pain. He is also a chiropractor, and uses spinal manipulation in his practice. Jeff trained cetaceans at SeaWorld in Florida for seven years, and pinnepeds for one year. He spent 8 years as a SeaWorld animal trainer, becoming disillusioned along the way.  He disagrees with the practice of captivity for free ranging mammals. Jeff is a main character, along with Naomi Rose, in the book"Death at SeaWorld," and is a cast member of the movie "Blackfish," as himself. He has co-authored several scientific works with John Jett PhD including most recently a university book chapter on the topic of Killer Whales in Captivity, and a peer reviewed article in the Journal of Marine Mammal Science.
