If there is one word than can describe an individual like Sin Marcellis, it would have to be “Gifted”.  From an early age he was known to pick up on things almost immediately, and not just pick up… excel. As early as 8 years old Sin had begun to display an interest in music, namely the hip-hop genre. With an almost innate ability to formulate rhymes spontaneously he became known to friends as an excellent “Freestyle” rapper. A reputation which followed him most of his life throughout high-school, where he won numerous rap battles, stole the show at countless performance showcases and became notorious as “The guy you didn’t want to rap against”. Unfortunately, none of these gained accolades could persuade young Sin to seriously pursue a career in music, which ultimately led to him dropping out of school and turning to the streets. Once again using his gift to adapt and thrive, he found a new sort of success under the tutelage of his new found influences on the streets of North Philadelphia. All the spoils of ill-gotten gains seemed to be well worth the risk until it all came to an end due to a combination of the crumble of the lucrative operation he was working under, and the murder of his best friend. Quickly reassessing the direction of his life he began to slowly focus back on the other love of his life, music. Upon moving back to Philadelphia after a short stint living in Chicago he began to write music for other artists which would eventually lead to him going into business as a ghostwriter. Using this as a financial “Backbone” he would also go on to work as a feature artist alongside some of Philadelphia’s premiere talent.
