Happy Dependence Day...the new 4th of July

We have another July 4th where people are enjoying their day off with fireworks, parades, picnics, family reunions, barbecues, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonie.  When was the last time you really gave some thought to the reason we celebrate "Independence Day"? It is a time known for our declaration of independence from Great Britian.  A time where a future of a newly founded country was unknown and uncertain but the ideal of freedom to succeed or fail motivated the colonist to grow into what we now know as the United States of America.  How disappointed do you think the founding fathers would be to know all that they fought and sacraficed for future generations would only bring us back to a people who no longer valued the idea of freedom? You have people from other countries who go through great lengths even death for the chance...not guarantee to make the life for themselves that dream of.  With each passing day the American Dream grows dimmer for its sons and daughters not because it is harder to achieve but because the children choose to stay asleep and not make those dreams a reality.  We will be live this weekend as we discuss Hiliary Clinton's "being broke" statements, the illegal immigration debate, Supreme Court birth control mandate ruling, and other topics from 2 pm to 4 pm.
