La Shawn Pagán, photography and internet marketing

La Shawn Pagán is a freelance journalist/photojournalist, working from the Caribbean, interviewing locals on crime, politics, and local living, among other issues.

Born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico, she studied at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. After a decade in the legal field, she transitioned to journalism.

In March 2012, she began working with Xinhua News, also at the United Nations, where she covers the the Security Council and the General Assembly for their wire section, as well as reporting on various other topics.

Having a passion for photography, she began taking photos of not just news subjects. This hobby quickly lead her to freelance photography, she has photographed small events such as, dinner and birthday parties, done website photography, portfolios, film productions, as well photo-contributed with online and print media.
