Have you ever looked at famous people and forgotten what it was like before they became famous?

Mariah Carey: Salon Assistant

Before hitting her high notes, Mariah Carey was down low – sweeping hair from a salon floor. It’s pretty hard to imagine her doing any kind of labor and she sure didn’t enjoy it. “It was the pits working in a salon, sweeping up hair,” she said about her worst job.

Jim Carrey: Janitor

The Canadian born comedian and actor dropped out of high school when he was 15 to work as a janitor to help support his family.  In a commencement speech he gave at Maharishi University of Management, Carrey spoke about his time supporting his family and lessons learned from his father. He said “you can fail at something you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance doing what you love.”

Nehemiah’s faithfulness as the cup-bearer and the courage to speak up allowed him an opportunity to changed history…to be in charge of rebuilding the outer walls of Jerusalem.

Luke 16:10 says (NLT) - New Living Translation

"If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities.

Rick Warren said, “You will never arrive at the state in life where you’re too important to help with menial tasks. God will never exempt you from the mundane. It’s a vital part of your character curriculum. The Bible says, “If you think you are too important to help someone in need, you are only fooling yourself. You are really a nobody”
