On Sunday, May 24, 2015 I shared a sermon called "Why Some People Hate You."  The bulk of my talk came from the Biblical story of King Saul and David.  Here is some of what I shared:

It happened as they were coming, when David returned from killing the (Goliath) Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy and with [b]musical instruments. The women sang as they [c]played, and said,

“Saul has slain his thousands,
And David his ten thousands.”

Then Saul became very angry, for this saying [d]displeased him; and he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, but to me they have ascribed thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?” Saul looked at David with suspicion from that day on.

There is a fable of an eagle which could out fly another, and the other didn't like it. The latter saw a sportsman one day, and said to him:

"I wish you would bring down that eagle." The sportsman replied that he would if he only had some feathers to put into the arrow. So the eagle pulled one out of his wing. The arrow was shot, but didn't quite reach the rival eagle; it was flying too high.....
