Emotional Intelligence (or EI), now widely recognized to be as significant as IQ, can be taught and learned—and that’s good news!  We know now that EI is important in child development, and many schools have begun programs to help students gain these skills. But adults can benefit from improving their EI too.

More and more businesses have provided emotional intelligence training and coaching for executives, managers, and teams of employees. If you recognize the need for emotional intelligence skills in yourself, your team, or your organization, where do you begin gaining those skills? Dr. Barbara Kerr has developed a step-by-step, workbook, Emotional Intelligence for a Compassionate World: Workbook for Enhancing Emotional Intelligence Skills. The workbook includes a 30-item self-assessment, relevant scenarios indicating strengths and weaknesses, exercises, and more than 50 practical suggestions for improving EI.
