The Making of Emotionally Intelligent Physicians

Tune in and hear from Joann Farrell Quinn,  Director of SELECT Competency Assessment at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.   Dr. Quinn is a content expert in emotional intelligence, teaches leadership and research methods and is a professional development coach.  Joann’s research focuses on leadership development, positive affect and the social construction of identity, which she has studied specifically with physician leaders since 2009.

Joann also has a boutique consulting firm focusing on leadership and organizational development, JFQ Consulting, which was founded in 2007.  Joann received her PhD from the Weatherhead School at Case Western Reserve University, where she was a student of Richard Boyatzis, noted expert on emotional intelligence and author of over 150 publications, including the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) with co-creator Daniel Goleman.
