Death, the final and most powerful stage in a person's life. The everday concept of one dying has always been surrounded by superstition and tradition. The funerary rituals of the 19th century are some of the most interesting and, in a sense, loving of them all. They lead to the evolution of the celebration of death as we know it today. In this episode we'll talk about some of the traditions that Victorian and Southern Americans followed and how they have influenced those of the present.
