Investigative Journalist, Suzanne Marcus Fletcher, interviews, Lauren Chief Elk, Co-Founder of the Save Wiyabi Awareness Project and Operation Thunderbird. "Operation Thunderbird is looking to map every case of missing and murdered Aboriginal women. Supporters of Operation Thunderbird, or #OpThunderbird on Twitter, launched a crowd map Tuesday that plots those cases across Canada and the United States, including dozens of cases in Thunder Bay. Says the Organization, "Operation ThunderBird began when a group of committed activists started speaking together about their desire to help bring justice to marginalized indigenous women everywhere. ....We saw women missing, abused, murdered with impunity, beheaded, raped, dismembered, disrespected, unheard and forgotten by the media and legal institutions. We found one another serendipitously, recognizing our commonality of heart and passion. Though we come from many different walks of life, we all agree on one thing: the right of indigenous women to be respected, protected, safe and empowered."
