Cancer will be the topic today.  My guest has written a book  called : Out of Time: An example of how to live with cancer.

Nancy chronicled their experience in a journal, first writing for herself to find a way to deal with the exhausting four-year battle. But today, years after her husband’s passing, she shares these personal moments with the world in her new book, Out of Time: One Couple’s Journey Through Cancer.

“My main message is this: life is worth living, even if it is not the life you had anticipated. One can find enjoyment, pleasure, and even joy where it was least expected,” the author said. “I learned these things from people spending their entire lives working in a field where people are desperate, where people may have little hope. If men and women working with very ill or terminal patients can have hope and optimism, everyone can.   No matter what our situation is, we all have many things to be grateful for.”

Written for cancer patients and their friends and caregivers, Out of Time explores in a loving, real and powerful way how the Beckermans’ lives changed and how they confronted each challenge with dignity, perseverance and courage.
