From Darkness to Light: Dumb Luck

In a world filled with dangers and despair it becomes increasingly easier for people to believe that there is no order or reason to life. Good things happen to Bad people, and sometimes bad things happen to Good people. It's all a matter of Luck! You may be lucky one minute and unlucky the next.... But what if a person could create their own luck?? That is exactly what many of us attempt to do on a daily basis... oftentimes without even realizing it. How often do we speak words or perform minor rituals with the hope of receiving good luck or avoiding bad luck. We knock on wood, toss coins in a fountain or make wishes on shooting stars? And Why??? - Because we have hope that it may bring good into our lives and turn away the bad. Although most people will readily acknowledge that these rituals are purely superstitious in nature, that does not diminish the power that they hold in our minds. Even many who claim to accept Jesus Christ as Lord are enslaved to countless superstitious practices and beliefs. But if the God of the Bible is a God of Order, then why do so many of us live our lives as if blown on the winds of fate and chance?  Join us today as we examine Superstitions and the division between Fortune and Faith.
