Wow! Dr. Randall Pinkett did not disappoint.  He was very passionate about the advice that he gave and I want to thank those of you that text me the questions to ask him! One of the things that stuck with me was 10% of businesses with high growth start with one thousand dollars or less!  If you think about that for a minute, that's incredible.

I know when I first started out, I concentrated on how everything looked. Whether the letterhead was just right, fancy furniture....but if hindsight was 20/20, I would have focused all of my money, time and efforts on marketing. Or better yet, I start the day now thinking how can I best spend my time for the greatest return. Dr. Pinkett talked about what he felt he would have done differently.  I loved his answer (hint:stay in your lane).

I look forward to speaking with Dr. Pinkett again and seeing him at future events.

Our 1st show went very well and I want to thank my guests, Mr. Jay Burks, Executive Director of the Office of Minority & Women Business Enterprise for the State of Delaware.  Jay gave insight of why it is important to get certified through his office regardless of your business ventures if you want to do business with the State of Delaware.  Jay also gave a few websites for more information on opportunities. Those websites are http://dataservice.org/, and http://www.eschoolmall.com/.  Also, visit the website of the Office of Minority & Women Business Enterprise by clicking here.

Our second guest for the show was Richelle Shaw. Richelle is the only African American women to own a public utility company. She told about how she bought the company from her boss, lost everything due to 9/11 and then built it all back again! Her story is a great story of perseverance, determination and what to do when the economy is in shambles.  Learn more about Richelle and her business ventures, coaching programs and books at http://www.richelleshaw.com/.

You can rest assured that every week, we will bring you tips and resources to motivate you, inspire as well as share secrets and tips to get ahead in this economy that has been labeled the worst since the Great Depression!  I look forward to sharing with you from my experiences and I will work hard to bring quality guests that can add value to your experience as a business owner.

Next week, I am looking forward to talking to Dr. Randall Pinkett, the winner of the 4th Season of The Apprentice.  I'm sure he will be ready to talk about the economy and how to start and manage your dream business with little or no money.  Also, next week, you will have a chance to meet our co-host for this segment, Rodney Foust.

    Can't wait!
