Charmaine welcomes Casey Dean to the show.

Whether you're new to the pleasure of pet parenthood or a long-time pet lover, San Diego Pets Magazine has the information you want. Each issue is packed with captivating stories and resources that promote the amazing San Diego Pet lifestyle we enjoy.  After nearly five years of designing this magazine from the art department of the San Diego Community Newspaper Group, Casey Dean, took an opportunity to purchase the magazine from his boss. He started his own company, Dean Publishing inc., and began to publish San Diego Pets Magazine from his home.

Taking over the magazine, in late 2010, from a bi-monthly that only covered a small area, Dean has now grown San Diego Pets Magazine to a monthly that is distributed from Oceanside to Chula Vista. Now, the magazines are available at every local Albertsons, Ralph's and participating CVS and Food4Less stores as well as over 300 pet friendly locations.

Now in its eighth year of print, Dean recently launched a mobile-friendly version of the website, www.SanDiegoPetsMagazine.com, which features a free events calendar, public blogging, classifieds and of course, all the feature columns, pet press and educational resources you find in the monthly print magazine.

Host Charmaine Hammond is the author of On Toby's Terms (Bettie Youngs Books) which is being turned into a major motion picture (see www.ontobysterms.com). She also authored Toby The Pet Therapy Dog & His Hospital Friends, GPS Your Best Life and Toby Says Be a Buddy Not a Bully.  She has developed a program for authors, Your Book As a Business, where she shares her learnings, lessons and success about the business of books.
