friends. A sound technician and musician himself – Doug Montgomery’s ears perked up. Montgomery gave the 11 year old a business card and said, “Have your parents call me.” Within a month the duo had learned 11 county music classics. On June 11th 2005 Brenda sang at her first Jamboree. By the summer of 2007 this new singer was opening for notable acts such as The Wilkinson’s and Aaron Lines. In 2006, Brenda entered KX96 Super Star Search contest. The twelve-year-old was awarded the Grand Prize by Adriane Vogel – A song produced by the legendary Mike Francis and guaranteed airplay on KX96. One song turned into three. "Worth The Wait" was released through Joe Wood, RDR Music. With tracking by Lauren Tutty Promotions, radio across Canada embraced the young singer. The follow up single "First Kiss" is getting impressive airplay. Her debut album was released in December 2007. Seven of the original tunes were co-written and co-produced by Cyril Rawson, who also collaborated with David Martin and John Acosta. Brenda’s experience with Rawson was “music 101.” He taught her the basics of creating a lyric, to perfecting her studio sound and making a song her own. Brenda is a poised, approachable young lady. She is looking forward to all this journey has to offer. In her own words… “I can see the future and I can’t wait!” Written by: Sandra Jane
