Willard Tillman the ED of the Oklahoma Historical Research Project and Rudy Arredondo ED of the National Latino Farmers and Ranchers Trade Association will talk about the National Rural Gathering that will take place in Shawnee, OK from June 22nd through June 26.  The Rural Coalition’s National Rural Gathering hosted by the Oklahoma Historical Research Project, takes place at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. This will be an historic gathering of the people of the land. Farmworkers, small farmers, ranchers, and rural, acequia, land grant, tribal communities, advocates, and activists from the US and beyond will be standing together at the crossroads creating opportunities for transformation and change.  They will focus on issues of land, water, energy, and food.  It is one of the few gatherings nationwide where more than 250 rural leaders and their allies including youth delegates will engage and empower themselves by developing innovative grassroots solutions to a more just and sustainable food system that fosters diverse land tenure, as well as, vibrant and inclusive communities.  Join us in this discussion and be a part of the transformation.
