    Stephanie A. Duckworth-Elliott is a young woman who is living her passion. She is the author of a new children's book called "Poneasequa-The Goddess of the Waters" and has a publishing company called Wampum Books. Stephanie is a member of The Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. She has had the opportunity to play various roles within her Indian community, such as Assistant Education Director and conducts lectures on Native American education. She lectured at the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Miami. These experiences have assisted her in her understanding of today’s diverse population. . She has over 15 years of experience as a Minority Educator both in and out of the classroom. Her educational background consists of being a member of The Graduate Faculty at The New School for Social Research where she received her Masters in Sociology. She earned a Masters in Non-profit Management from the Graduate School for Public Policy at Rutgers University at Newark, and a BA in Africana Studies from Douglass College at Rutgers University. Her professional background as an educator consists of teaching 75 college courses at various institutions including Princeton University, Rutgers University, The College of New Jersey, Colorado Technical University and numerous community colleges. She is also a certified teacher in the state of New Jersey and has taught 6th grade in the Franklin Township School District and 2nd grade at the Collegiate School in Manhattan. She was the Assistant Executive Director of the National Commission on the High School Senior Year funded by the U.S. Department of Education under President Bill Clinton and has written numerous reports that she either authored or co-authored focusing on education.

    Voices of the Canadian Holocaust Speak to the Pope

    Reverend Kevin Annett who recently returned from his trip to Europe will talk about the first public memorial service ever held in Rome for the victims of Catholic Indian Residential Schools, that occurred outside the Vatican on October 11, has evoked literal storms of change in the Roman Catholic church. Less than a day after the service, a rare tornado struck the center of Rome and the Vatican. Two days later, senior Vatican officials stated privately that they would meet with Rev. Kevin Annett and The Friends and Relatives of the Disappeared (FRD) from Canada to discuss their demand that the remains of children who died under the care of the Catholic church be surrendered for a proper burial. Until the October 11 ceremony, the Vatican had refused to respond to the FRD and its letters to the Pope. One church insider recently informed Rev. Annett that the Curia's willingness to meet with him and the FRD represents "a major admission that genocide went on ... the Pope's back is to the wall on this one." Besides a return of the remains of residential school children, the FRD has called for the Catholic church to surrender the guilty, revoke genocidal papal bulls such as the Inter Caetera of 1493, and appear before an international war crimes tribunal. Held across from St. Peter's Square following the Pope's weekly Sunday service, the October 11 ceremony was officiated by Rev. Annett, who was commissioned by families of the dead and aboriginal elders in Vancouver to hold the service.

    Leonard Peltier-A Man With A Message

    Harvey Arden, author and editor along with Rob Fife, who is Nez Perce/Cayuse and one of the organizers of the November 5 Circle of Clemency event, will join us on the Talking Feather Radio Show. We will talk about Leonard Peltier-the man-who is a writer, artist, human rights advocate and 2007 Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Rob Fife will share information about The CIRCLE OF CLEMENCY event which is a group of Leonard Peltier supporters who will be making themselves seen and heard on November 5th in Washington, DC. People will gather in front of the White House and there will be a procession to the Department of the Interior Building. Supporters of Leonard feel that "Now is the time to stand UP and be strong for Leonard Peltier and all of our peoples." This is about dignity, justice, freedom. This is s ONE DAY event to help free a man who has been in prison for 34 YEARS. Harvey Arden, who has been instrumental in assisting Leonard in getting his writings edited, distributed and heard around the world. Harvey will share personal stories about Leonard and read passages from Leonard Peltier's book, "Prison Writings: My Life is My Sun Dance."

    African-Native American Genealogy: Tracing Your Roots, Telling Your Story

    Today we unravel the hidden history of African-Native American people whose genealogy has been obfuscated and often denied. Our informative dialogue may help you trace your roots. Our special guest Angela Y. Walton-Raji is an avid genealogist, who has researched her family history since 1975. Ms.Walton-Raji was born in western Arkansas, raised on the Arkansas/Oklahoma border, in the City of Ft. Smith. In 1991 she located her family records among those of the Choctaw Nation, confirming a relationship often spoken about from family oral history. With this discovery, came the sudden knowledge that her great grandparents were enslaved Africans of the Choctaw Nation who migrated west on the Trail of Tears. Angela Y. Walton-Raji is the author of "Black Indian Genealogy: African American ancestors Among the Five Civilized Tribes. It is known that many Africans intermarried with Native Americans. Less widely known is the fact that many Native Americans also owned slaves, and fathered children with enslaved African women. The Five Civilized Tribes - Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole - owned slaves. In addition there were smaller numbers of Free People of Color who lived in many of the Native American nations and who married persons from those nations, and whose descendants claim ancestry from the Oklahoma Afro-Indian people. As a result, a significant percentage of Americans have African and Native American ancestry.

Kevin will discuss the swine flu and outline facts showing that tamilfu vaccinations are causing a sickness that is being deliberately aimed at Aboriginal people across Canada, a fact acknowledged by the Canadian government by their "routine" sending of body bags to Indian villages.
