From April 19-22, 2010, Indigenous people from around the world gathered in Cochabamba, Bolivia for the World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth. The conference was initiated by President Evo Morales of Bolivia who felt that the people that had been shut out of the United Nations Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change in December 2009 should have their voices amplified in Bolivia. The World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth gave grass roots organizers, Indigenous People and a host of organizations the opportunity to unite, build a movement and reach consensus on issues of climate change and the future of this beautiful Earth Mother. Talking Feather co-host, Penny Gamble-Williams, who traveled to Bolivia as a World People's Conference participant will share her experiences and thoughts about the conference, and the beautiful people of BOLIVIA. Together, Penny and Thunder Williams will discuss the impacts climate change is having on poor and vulnerable developing nations, and why all nations must sign on to a Universal Declaration on MOTHER EARTH RIGHTS and agree to form a Climate Justice Tribunal that can enforce binding reductions in greenhouse gas emissions against all nation-states.
