This week on Gay’s PSA, I will have Anthony Antoine on the air with me! Anthony Antoine is a community activist, performance poet and recognized trailblazer of the LGBT Music Scene. Since 1999, Anthony has also worked intricately with non-profits on the front lines of HIV/STI prevention and research in Atlanta with a tireless focus on MSM communities for AID Atlanta, ARCA and most recent, as a Senior Research Coordinator at Emory University. Anthony married his husband, Michael in 2016 but lost him to a short battle with cancer less than 2 years later. They shared a twenty-year commitment that inspired Anthony to start The Michael-Anthony Foundation as a way to continue the giving that Michael and Anthony were already engaged in and we’re both so passionate about. The Michael-Anthony Foundation has already given over $300,000 in charitable donations, 2 educational scholarships in Michael’s name and most recently, sponsored 70 first passports and two youth students from an Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School on a service and cultural emersion trip to Ecuador in July 2020. Anthony is a father, great friend, listener and a featured writer for the “It Gets Better” book and campaign.
