Last week, my son completed his senior research paper on the benefits of art education. When I read it, I was struck by the evidence for improvements in physical, emotional, and economic health that arts education can provide. These benefits come from practicing music, theatre, dance, painting, sculpting, video production, and more. Art is fun, and it's good for us, so why don't we spend more of our free time dancing, drawing, playing music, or acting? In my case, I don't practice the art forms I love because I am afraid of being judged. In today's podcast, I look at the barriers to self expression, and offer some solutions to help us get on the path to happy creativity.
