Civilization and human survival depend upon human beings behaving reasonably toward themselves and each other. After a discussion that defines being reasonable, its development, and its struggle to survive the human capacity for superstition, it will be suggested that being reasonable is being drowned by superstition, political ideology, childish tantrums and  emotional immaturity. We are in trouble!
