A common argument you will hear from many who support the legalization of prostitution is that it "eliminates" trafficking.  You will hear people say that the brothel system "removes" the pimp, gets the girls off the streets to where they are "safe" from harm, and that it also eliminates the risk of disease to both the client and the prostitute.  We all know that often "theory" and "practice" can be two different things so we have  an interview with Aubrey - a woman who worked in a Nevada brothel.  Hear Aubrey speak about being raped both by clients, her own husband, and even more than one "on duty" sheriff.  Aubrey was also told that she could not work at the Bunny Ranch unless she spent three days "partying" with Dennis Hof for free first.  There's no other job in the country where it would be legal to require a three-day long orgy first as a job requirement.  This interview explains why TAPS had presented the Nevada legislature with a letter on behalf of survivors asking that (1) the women who are applying for a license to work at the brothels receive an educational workshop first that also gives them hotlines to call for help when they are ready to quit sex work so they are warned about what they are about to walk into, (2) an exit strategy.
