Southeastern Film Industry Explored

Borrowing from the way that films used to be shown, the young filmmaker Devyne Johnson from Atlanta is booking theatre houses and then bringing her films to various locations in the Southeast..She is also already putting together a network of supporters and artists to help her get her product off the ground...we look forward to hearing what she has accomplished and what other things are on the horizon for her...  This talented young lady has already self financed her films and is doing independent distribution...And through her company she is making sure that our stories are being told and that we are being represented in the film community....Will be interesting to hear her views on Hollywood and it's push to do more African American films....We shall also be interested to find out what she thinks of the amount of Minority Gatekeepers that are out there and how our networks like BET and Own are doing in terms of providing outlets for both old and new films... It should be interesting to hear what advice she has for others in the industry when we have her join us this coming Monday. 

In addition during the roundtable part of the discussion, we will be talking politics and social issues.   And of course we will also look at the Labor Movement and the History of May Day......
