After being elected as Mayor of Sedona, Arizona in May 2008, Rob Adams states, “I am privileged and honored to be Sedona’s Mayor. I was born and raised in the Southwest and strive to protect our rich cultural heritage, wide open spaces, clean air and water, dark skies and friendly sense of community. My goal is to make Sedona a model community of environmental stewardship and sustainability.”

He also states (according to Sedona.biz, 22 Oct 09) that "The key [to being a good Mayor] is listening to people, balancing those needs against what's right for the whole community, and providing effective leadership."

Thus, with this in mind Mr. Adams has stood out solidly against destroying the environment unnecessarily, stating that he grew up on a farm, and that it's just common sense that something that harms living plants might also harm humans.

A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sedona Mayor Rob Adams has owned & operated six varying businesses before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1983. There he became general manager of his family's business, Adams Arabians.

In 1994, he moved to the Verde Valley area with his wife where he served as director/officer on numerous boards including the Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Verde Rural Fire Department and the Verde Valley Senior Center. Since 2006, he's also has served as a member of the Sedona City Council.
