Dr. Michelle Huggins considers her internal medicine practice a calling, not a career. Located for four years in downtown Douglasville, Georgia, Huggins Medical Group is a female-run practice that’s much more than a business. “It’s a place where the mind, body and spirit are nurtured,” she says. “We take care of the whole creation.”

The practice offers care for patients 14 and up, treating the common cold, diabetes, hypertension and a great deal more. Dr. Huggins credits her staff – an office manager and two medical assistants – with helping make Huggins Medical Group an everyday adventure. It’s a profession full of ongoing challenges, she says, but there’s nothing better than seeing her patients improve and maintain self-care routines.
