Rescue~

My wife was on the way home last night from Ladies Night when she ran out of gas on the freeway just before the exit we use to go home. She was in a particularly bad place, with a narrow space between the limit line and the guard rail, with cars and big trucks going by just a few feet to her left. When she called me just before 10PM I could tell she was scared. I told her that I would be there in just a few minutes with some gas. I grabbed a gas can from the garage, climbes into my F-150 and took off for the rescue. I was pulling up to her car about 15 minutes after her call.

It was raining. This stretch of the I-10 East is always busy, and I could see immediately why she was scared. I set my emergency flashers, and exited my truck between passing vehicles. It was a bit dangerous. As I was walking up to the right side window I prayed for the Highway Patrol to show up. Becky was on the phone to AAA, but was having to wait on hold. She had not pulled over very far off the freeway, and I wanted her to get out of the car to safety, but she was too frightened. At that moment a Patrol car puttled up behind my truth; lights flashing and their brights on. We were rescued. Well not quite yet.

They helped be get my gas can out of the bed of the truck as I was rolling Becky's car back, closer to the guard rail. One office directed traffic around us as I put 2 gallons of gas in the tank. I tried to start the car, but Becky had left the head lights on, and the car would not start. I popped the hood, and an officer opened it. And having planned ahead, I pulled a starting pack out of the back of the car, hooked it, started the car, and in 2 minutes we were on our way. The officers complimented me for having with me what we needed. Becky was rescued.

God wants to rescue His Kingdom, but He needs us to assist Him in our rescue by having planned ahead by knowing the truth about how salvation works.
