Transhumanism is a religion. A group of transhumanists set up a "cathedral" at this year’s Burning Man festival where they held services described as a "cross between a pentecostal service, apocalyptic warnings, and a rave."

But some of the acolytes are losing sleep over something called Roko’s Basilisk, the possibility that they're creating an artificial super intelligence so powerful it will come back from the future to punish those who threaten its existence—just like the Terminator.
