Mr. Walks, thanks so much for your comments. I do agree that my scope of hip hop is somewhat limited due to my personal tastes.

minimal resistance From NYC. I think it's because of the close proximity. The Same with Jersey but thats about it. It's hard to accept Scarface when you grew up off Rakim and Krs and Chuck and Erick and Parrish and even some Artist who were confined to Regional Status Like Divine force "Holy War". Who did "Small time Hustler"? i think it was The dismasters....At The time (80's) there were a slew of those type of artist that were only known outside of NYC by a few Hip Hop he

where ever you have black youth.....i personally don't think Lil Mama's "My Bubblegum" is any more derogatory or less insightful than Antoinette "i Got an Attitude"....one of the first artist i remember to make over the border and into the Mecca of hip hop was D.O.C. With "IT's funky enough", Ice Cube's "Amerikka Most Wanted" and the Geto Boy's My mind playin tricks". I would say PSK by Schooly MC, but Philly from earlier on had minimal resistance F
Hip hop being a purely Ny derived and expressed art form. I think it's been an expression for most major Us Cities (Chicago , La, Miami, ATL ) with the exception of NY, from 1980 on but the difference btw. that time and now is the older rap artist from other places in the states never really penetrated the mind of an average new yorker, which is understandable because it(Hip hop) is or was developed and expressed locally amongst black people...And You know how slang differs from state to state w

(to the Host or Guest that mentioned these Artist ) You listen to biggie, nas, jay and was listening to the chronic but decided to take it off your playlist because of Bitches and hoes...it seems to be the same story again. What i mean is that it's ok to be demoralized by your local or regional rap stars and not, let's say by someone from the opposite coast or different area...i think it's like that with older hip hop heads and not the younger ones. They (the younger generation) didn't grow up w
