RELIGIOUS PRACTICES VERSES RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT (PART 1)

SUNDAY, MARCH 11, 2012 (6:30 - 7:00 P.M.)  OUR OPENING PRAISE & WORSHIP MOMENT:  I LOOK TO YOU...SUNG BY WHITNEY HOUSTON  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Pze_mdbOK8   The primary and most important step in the process of nurturing, growing and genuinely Xpanding our spiritual growth is through the development of a direct connection to and relationship with God.  In this interactive and spiritually nourishing dialogue, Women of God will proactively elaborate on the tenents of building an unshakable and unbreakable relationship with God.  And, in preparation for listening to and/or participating in this dialogue, there are several questions you must both ask and answer for yourself...if continuous spiritual growth is one of your goals:

1) Am I maximizing the quality of my prayer time?  

2) How important is meditation?

3) Am I engaging in the daily process of acknowledging and giving praise to God?

4) When I read the "word of God" am I understanding how it relates to and works for my life?

5) Is my relationship with God personal or intimate...what is the difference?

6) Are the spiritual tools I am currently using strengthening or stagnating my relationship with God?

Honestly answering these questions will empower you with the ability to discern the difference between repetitious religious practices and the process for building, strengthening, and maintaining a direct connection to and relationship with God.  Discussion will be led by  Alicia Middleton, Founder & Co-Pastor/A New Life Ministry.
