Scottscope Talk Radio 10/18/2014: Do Not Talk About Fight Club!

On this week’s edition of Scottscope Talk Radio, the roundtable celebrates the 15th anniversary of Fight Club!  Where does it rank in David Fincher’s filmography?  Do its messages of anti-consumerism and anti-corporatization still resonate in today’s culture of conspicuous consumption?  Has its message of male empowerment been misconstrued by the proponents of groups such as the Men’s Rights Movement?  Can the film be considered irredeemably misogynist considering the treatment its lone female character at the hands of the male leads?  Does Fight Club merit comparison to other watershed films such as A Clockwork Orange?  Will David Fincher ever return to that kind of aggressive filmmaking?
