Stacy Malkan is the author of the award-winning book, “Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry” and co-founder of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a national coalition of health and environmental groups working to eliminate toxic chemicals from beauty products. Stacy is a leading media strategist for environmental health issues and is frequently interviewed by the media about the science and politics of the toxic chemical economy. In October 2008, a Wall Street Journal article named “Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry” one of the best environmental reads, and the book won a 2008 Silver Medal Award from the Independent Book Publishers Association. Prior to working as an environmental health advocate, Stacy worked for many years as a journalist and newspaper publisher in the Colorado Rockies. She currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
