We will be following up discussion that I had with Dr. Dan Lewis 

about the state of Computer Science courses in high schools through out California . With the shortage of IT professionals in the US. It makes sense that we should be teaching our youth these essential skills

Mr. Page will give his insights into what we need and should be doing now and in the future 

Gary is an Education Programs Consultant with the California Department of Education. He works in the Career and College Transition Division as lead consultant for the Information and Communication Technologies career sector.

In this capacity, he works with education, community, government and business leaders throughout California's secondary and post-secondary education systems to better align career and college pathways. Gary provides support to classroom teachers through model curriculum standards and model curriculum, and advocates for the adoption of effective ICT courses and programs.

Gary networks with more than 1,000 classroom teachers on a regular basis through a CDE list serve, and a personal initiative, publishes a blog (www.EdSynergy.Org) to provide information and support to classroom teachers and administrators in California who teach primarily in subjects related to information technology and computer science.
