With Bailey and March-Lillard out for the year and Gaines being a major question mark, several young and inexperienced Chiefs are going to have to step up on the defensive side of the ball. On the other side of the team, Andy Reid and the offense made strides over the bye week, as Reid committed to the ground game and let Alex Smith take some deep shots against the Raiders.
For all of the good that came in Oakland on Sunday, it will all be lost in the grand story of the season if the Chiefs become complacent and let this be their best effort of the year. Now, the Chiefs must continue to build.
