The Florida Highway Patrol says a vehicle driven by Matthew Thomas Zisa, was traveling northbound & was passing northbound traffic when he failed to notice six pedestrians. Zisa struck three of the pedestrians, killing two of them. The victims stated they were walking in the grass beside the road & were descending into a parking lot. The FHP says Rachel L. Welford & Jeremy Lee Shipley sustained fatal injuries & were pronounced dead at the scene. Johnathan M. Kane was seriously injured & was transported by LifeFlight. He has since been released. Micah Orr, son of Rhiannon Waits, tried to assist the victims yet Rachel Welford died while holding his hand. Zisa only came out of his truck once to say "I am sorry Man", and returned without offering assistance. Welford 17;Shipley 24;Kane 21 (Welford's Fiance);Jeremy Davidson 19; Rachel’s sister Jennifer Welford 15;& Micah Orr, 18, were walking from home to the nearby store when they were struck from behind. It was Jonathon Kanes birthday & Rachel had just baked her first cake by herself for it. She was born Premature & the road rage she encountered between two men would end her life prematurely. “These people behind me were driving crazy,” witness John Middleton told WEAR-TV. “I was going about the speed limit. They tried to pass me, so I sped up a little bit. They fell back behind me. Then they come around me one more time, & that’s when the accident happened. ”Middleton left the scene of the accident & went home only to return 30 minutes later with a friend. The accident is still under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. This obviously was a case of road rage between two people that ended killing two, injuring one & mentally scarring 3 (including Rachels sister) for the rest of their lives, Members of the group said Friday that they never saw Zisa’s headlights, never heard a horn, and never heard tires squealing.Estimated speed at impact was 75 miles per hour knocking Rachel Welford 300 feet into a ditch
