It is Gravenstein time again in Sonoma County, California. The Gravenstein is an heirloom apple variety that has been part of this rich agricultural area since the arrival of Russian immigrants in the mid 1800's. The Gravenstein Apple Fair is a grand tradition in Sepastopol California every August since the early 1900's. This unique and endangered Apple is one of the six US Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity Presidia product. Carmen Schneider from Sonoma County Farm Trails joins the program to tell us all about all the fair events as well as the unique place the Gravenstein has in the agricultural and culinary traditions  of the area.
