Since truths aren't absolute, it is important to keep searching for other viewpoints in order to stay open and not lock into beliefs, which only serve to create a wall around us. To illustrate the need to stand between belief and disbelief, Janet gives examples of her own and Joan Culpepper's past experiences with learning this very fundamental lesson.
