1 Peter 2:11-12 says Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.  What a true verse of scripture we must be reminded of daily, that we do not belong to this world. We are strangers and pilgrims who are on a journey towards Heaven to reign with our Lord and Saviour. But until that great day comes it will be asked of us to go through many trials, difficuties, hardships and temptations in order to make us strong in our faith and trust in Almighty God. 2 Cor 4:8-9 makes this point very clear, " We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed". Exactly how are we to be seperate in a wicked, depraved and sensual world today? What will it take to stay focused towards the goal for the prize thats right before us? Know this, satan will always seek out ways to distract us from our journey and get us thinking about living it up here just a little while longer....eat, drink and be merry, indulge in every lustful appetite you can think of. He simply wants you to forget your just a sojourner, forget those eternal bliessings and rewards in Christ, and yes miss out on Gods best. King Solomon said it best, Ecclesiastes 2:1  said to myself, "Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good." But that also proved to be meaningless, lord teach us to be sober and vigilant and know that this world is not our home.
