I've always wondered how filmmakers with little money and resources make their dreams come true. Take Robert Rodriguez who made 'Desperado' on a $7K budget. And the other day I saw 'Napoleon Dynomite'. How much do you think it took to make that specrapular movie? This week's topic--a special non-profit group that takes passion, hard-work, and good-hearted volunteers and makes films that matter. The group is called the Southwest Community of Motion Artists. You don't have to be rich, or beautiful, or connected, or talented to join. All S.C.O.M.P.A. wants is your time to have some fun and make movies. To find out how, listen to the show or meet the "Scompians" in person this Friday at Dallas' Lakewood Tavern in Dallas. If you don't want to join but want to give money to a good cause, we hope to see you there as well. Yes, I will be there!
