The Zombie Apocalypse: Fact or Fiction

With all of the Zombie related stories popping up all over the US and abroad, one must ask themselves why?  Why now?  Is it merely the Zombie drug called Bath Salts, or is there something else going on?

We have been faced with Zombie-like actions by human beings, what could be an outbreak of the Bubonic Plague, and so much more as 12-21-2012 approaches.  Are these scare tactics?  And if so, who wants us to feel fear, and who is controlling the media outlets to the extent that all we see is fearmongering?
