“Where the Wild Things Are” was published in 1963 and has become a staple in American culture.

Selling over 10 million copies and winning multiple awards.

Jonze began his career directing commercials and music videos.

He has worked with great musical talent such as Daft Punk, Weezer, and the Beastie Boys.

Adaptation is loosely based on the book “The Orchid Thief.”

Kaufman was hired to adapt the book for film in 1994. However he suffered from horrible writer’s block and wasn’t sure of what to think of the book.
