Bio as posted at www.fascious.com: ANTHONY FASCIOUS MARTINEZ is both writer and performer of the award winning Hip-Hop musical Penumbra which was selected by HBO to be presented as a film pitch for The 2009 NY International Latino Film Festival having received critical acclaim from The Village Voice, Time Out NY, NYTheatre and recognition online at NBC and Daily News: Latino. Fascious was a featured artist on VH1 and toured across the United States, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia while sharing the stage with artists such as KRS-One, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco, M1 of Dead Prez, Rebel Diaz, and Saul Williams. As an Urban Word NYC Mentor and Teaching Artist for institutions such as the Manhattan Theatre Club, Fascious has lectured and facilitated workshops at over 60 universities/colleges, high schools, middle schools, community centers, and prison facilities. As an independent Hip-Hop Documentarian from the Bronx and Executive Producer for the Hip-Hop Theater Festival's Line Breaks Podcast Series in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Fascious has interviewed and produced content for artists such as Danny Hoch, Marc Bamuthi Joseph, The Sugar Hill Gang, The Beatnuts, Cuban Link, Slim from 112, among others. He is Founder of the annual Epicenter Concert Series, which is a free event that has thus far fundraised over $15,000 to produce artist showcases featuring Hip-Hop, Spoken Word, Theater, Dance, and Latin/Progressive Rock. As a member of The Intangible Collective, Fascious aims to connect with and empower artists, audiences and communities through multiple mediums of creative expression.
