On Wednesday, March 27th, 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court heard the oral arguments of United States v. Windsor, having heard Hollingsworth v. Perry the preceding day, which resulted later in the year, the overturning of DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act) and the upholding of the unconstitutionality of California's Proposition 8. Also on March 27tth of 2013, throughout the United States communities rallied in support of Marriage Equality, on which day almost 1,000 people gathered across the street from Palm Springs City Hall. Nicholas Snow was on hand at the event, and to add historical context to the cases before the Supreme Court now, presents an encore of the speeches given that day.
