Marjorie Young

I was born in Rhode Island and moved with my family to San Francisco at age thirteen. Soon after, I saw my first Japanese film, ‘Seven Samurai,’ which immediately captured my imagination. As a result, I became enthralled with Japanese history and traditions, and soon became a teen-age expert on Japanese cinema. I vowed to live in Japan and in my early twenties, after attending San Francisco State University and traveling through Europe and North Africa, I indeed did go. I remained for the next twenty years; working as an English teacher while learning the language, martial arts (aikido) and making friendships that will last a lifetime.

In addition to Japan, I have traveled extensively throughout the world…Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, China, India, Nepal, Central and South America, and more. I experienced many unforgettable, life-altering episodes along the way, which have greatly inspired my writing. The world’s diversity of lifestyles, traditions, and myths continues to intrigue me, and I treasure every moment spent abroad.

I have also been blessed with psychic abilities since earliest childhood. At first, I found it rather scary, but over the years, and after working with scientists and spiritual advisors, I learned to fully embrace them. I take great joy in working as a healer, psychic medium, and occasionally engage in ghost hunting as well…all of which great influences my fictional writing as well.

After returning to the USA I turned to creating my fantasy/adventure series, “The Boy with Golden Eyes.” Begun as a bed-time story for my great-nephew, Sam, it now has readers world-wide, winning awards in Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles. In addition,
