Let's Talk About It with Jenny White/Has The World Lost Its Mind?

Some have the idea that the world is spinning out of control and there's nothing we can do about it. It seems that the shootings and attacks and bombs and the constant stream of awful stuff that is happening out there is causing chaos and insecurity. In my opinion, the world isn't any worse than it has been, it's just that we're more aware of all of the bad things than ever before. The violence isn't new, it's just that we are more aware of all the bad things than ever before. "The violence is not new;" says Ta-Nehisi Coates, "it's the cameras that are new." Cameras, the internet, and social media are giving us information and this constant awareness of every fault and flaw of our humanity, combined with an inundation of doomsayers and narcissistic persons which is what is causing this constant feeling of a chaotic and insecure world that doesn't actually exist.
