Linen's & Things closed its stores in Austin, Texas and apparently nationwide. Who thought we'd lose our desire for linen? Businesses are closing largely due to the lack of disposable income from the middle class that's feeling the affects of the recession the powers-that-be now admit we've been in since December 2007. I know of two African-American book stores in Texas and my home state of North Carolina that are closing due to lack of sales. North Carolina has a web site of announced closings and public lay offs: http://eslmi23.esc.state.nc.us/masslayoff/index.asp. I'm seeing the worse before the better. I'd like to know how this is affecting you in your state or country. Call in at (646) 929-1300.
