It is never too late to return to a favorable relationship with God. We may stray, we may stride out of our Father God's house, we may strike out in anger against God and His Church. But we can always return. How is this possible and why is it possible? It is possible because although we may consider ourselves estranged from God, Our Father God is never estranged from us. It is possible because of the cross of Jesus the Christ. His cross is the intersection between heaven and earth, between God and humankind, between you and your Father God. Today we look at the second and third scripture readings from the 21st Sunday of Pentecost as read by all churches worldwide who, using the Common Lectionary, read these scriptures on October 17th. It is these scriptures that Pope Benedict the XVI used for his homily at the Mass for the Synod of the Middle East that opened this week and continues for two weeks. See my comments on this at Bible-Study-for-everyone.com. Also be sure to take a tune at the Christianchurchradio.com site and listen for a few minutes to music for the soul. Thank you. Your support and encouragement are a big help.
