This week, we talk with music - and now media - mogul, Frank Johnson. At age 17, one label had moved him up to New York to work for them. He worked for Def Jam Records for years, working closely with then Def Jam president, Kevin Liles. Starting as a rap artist himself, he didn't like the way his label was treating him, so he decided to learn the reins himself. And he learned it well! At which point, he stopped performing so he could help other young artists take control of their careers. He still promotes, through his newly-launched Frank Johnson Media. But he also has his own radio and TV network, WPB Networks, and his Creative Hub Baltimore provides space and support for young artists to grow.
