Joey G. Dauben is running for mayor of Palmer to present a vision for the future: one that plans for parks in this city of 2,000 people. We don't have a single park for our families to enjoy or relax. Joey wants to change that. Joey wants to produce economic benefits on I-45, as well as plan for five, 10, 15 years from now. In September 2009, Joey generated numerous headlines for his false imprisonment and false arrest for publishing a mug shot on The Ellis County Observer of a Combine, Texas police officer. All charges were rejected and Dauben filed a $250,000 civil rights lawsuit against Combine last year.
