Anthony Mendez, father of school age son, community youth supporter (20 years) Outreach Drug Counselor in the Hawaii public school system, island of Oahu will interview with AZ Op! regarding “Ending Corporal Punishment in Schools Act,” HR 5005.

Interview questions include:

  • Are you aware that the wooden board is already deemed a "deadly-weapon" by the US Supreme Court Justice and that to use this object to strike an animal or “convicted felon” is a federal crime...?
  • If you had the opportunity to speak to John Kline, US Education Committee Chairman, House Representative of Minnesota, what would you say to him?
  • Can you give me a few reasons why you are willing to do more than just leave the success of this bill to activism in progress by AZ Op?
  • If you were speaking to an audience primarily composed of Native  Americans and Latinos, what are some things you would say to them to gain their support for HR 5005?
  • As a father of a school age American son yourself, who would you say is most  responsible for the success or failure of HR 5005?
  • Tomorrow, November 13 marks 50 days before the expiration date of HR 5005.  If this bill were to expire, US legislators, mainstream media and adult members of "we the people" will have failed it for a third time.  What message will be sent to the world about the level of concern American adults have for their school age population of US citizens?
