Major Smiley was injured and blinded in a suicide bomb attack in Iraq and was awarded the Purple Heart for his actions in preventing the driver from successfully taking a position to potentially injure or kill more men. Major Smiley will discuss that event and what gave him the strength to return home to his wife and courageously tackle rehabilitation with determination and gratitude.
